In less than year, we've helped parents commit to delaying the smartphone during childhood for more than 1,000 Washoe County kids (and counting), and connected those families by grade level and school for community support.
Now, we're gearing up to introduce our bipartisan Say YES to RECESS Nevada bill this February. Theresearch-backed bill aims to mandate 45 minutes of recess a day for elementary school students in Nevada and bar withholding recess from children for academic or minor disciplinary reasons.
Meanwhile, we're working to reallocate time and funding from unproven, unnecessary classroom technology to help put art and PE instruction in all 66 of our public elementary schools.
