We're working hard to increase real-life play and decrease unnecessary tech use during childhood. The goal is to turn things around for our kids and improve and protect their mental, physical and academic development.
Please consider making a donation to support these efforts.
In less than year, we've helped parents commit to delaying the smartphone during childhood for nearly 800 Washoe County kids, and connected those families by grade level and school for community support.
Now, we're scheduled to take the Wait Until 8th and wise tech use message into more than 20 Washoe County schools this fall!
And we're gearing up to introduce a bill in February that would mandate adequate recess during the school day and prohibit withholding recess from our children as a punishment. This would apply to Nevada students statewide!
Meanwhile, we're working to keep unnecessary and non-evidence-based EdTech out of Nevada classrooms, especially for our youngest students, who must be given the time and space to master basic skills before screens.
